Nightmares get a bad rap

Nightmares are so much fun! It's the most immersive horror movie
you've ever watched. Or a comedy-horror movie about how you're in school
again standing naked in front of all your classmates because you forgot
to wear your clothes and you realize that this is more than just about
your clothes. You exist in a perpetual state of shame with no end in
sight. You talk about acceptance but then use every chance you get to
criticize yourself for... Okay, I take it back, nightmares can be bad I
guess.

Why is everything broken?

I am the last person who would complain about bugs in tools I use.
Being a dev responsible for many bugs over the years, makes me empathize
with other devs so even the most frustrating buggy experiences I run
into ends with me going "eh, shit happens".

But recently, the web has been a bit more buggy that I'm used to.
Websites and apps just breaking all over the place. From the people I've
spoken to about this, I no longer think it's just me. The theory that
came up is all the AI-driven work done in the software industry but I
don't think that's it. As much as I dislike AI's forced involvement in
everything, I don't think the problem is just AI, but rather the effect
this is having on people. I think the disorientation from being pushed
in the deep end with AI is making experienced devs careless and hurting
our attention to detail.

Attention to detail is everything I appreaciate about the output
people produce in the world. So people loosing that makes people a lot
less interesting and apps a lot more useless. Hope that turns
around.

All consume, no produce

Let's just stop creating. What has being creative actually got us,
really? Let's just consume. Time to replace every outlet that humans
have to produce any kind of output and turn that into an act of
consumption as well. We've already succeeded in doing that to all forms
of digital works - art, code, writing, videos, etc. but why stop there?
I took a shit earlier today, why even that? Let's pass a law that some
corporation owns all shit in the world and people are legally obligated
to buy it from them for permission to drop it out of their assholes.
Otherwise the corporation is well within their right to sue them for
damage to their property. Add a toilet-seat + flush monthly subscription
to that and boom, utopia!

And the water after I wash my feet but at least that has the decency
to dry itself after a bit.
