I am the last person who would complain about bugs in tools I use. Being a dev responsible for many bugs over the years, makes me empathize with other devs so even the most frustrating buggy experiences I run into ends with me going "eh, shit happens".
But recently, the web has been a bit more buggy that I'm used to. Websites and apps just breaking all over the place. From the people I've spoken to about this, I no longer think it's just me. The theory that came up is all the AI-driven work done in the software industry but I don't think that's it. As much as I dislike AI's forced involvement in everything, I don't think the problem is just AI, but rather the effect this is having on people. I think the disorientation from being pushed in the deep end with AI is making experienced devs careless and hurting our attention to detail.
Attention to detail is everything I appreaciate about the output people produce in the world. So people loosing that makes people a lot less interesting and apps a lot more useless. Hope that turns around.
